The Blackwood River by Jackson Eaton
I wrote a song whilst in Cape Town called 'Dear River' which is about a yearning to see the world, for the path between two points to become home. The first verse goes...

Dear river, won't you take me out of here
Tell your friend the sea, that I'll be waiting at the pier
Then throw me out to those rolling waves
They're gonna take me the rest of the way
So my river is the Blackwood River in the South West of Western Australia that runs through the bottom of the valley in which I grew up. In the song I ask the river to take me away from all familiar and show me the world. I put a post on facebook asking people what "their" river is and here's what came back...

Yr Afon Dyfi - In some ways it's been my home for the last 12 years, from designing fishing boats at its mouth to seeing the peaty streams that feed it on walks.
